Teenage Girls & Family Relationships
Helping adolescents cope with the struggles of being a teen.
Teens today often tell me they wish they could just be on their own, making their own choices and being respected, yet they feel like they have not had time to be a kid. The struggle and pain of identity issues, low self-esteem and poor family connection can lead to intense anger, poor body image, drug and alcohol misuse, increased family problems, irritability, depression, and even suicidal ideation or self-harming thoughts. These thoughts and feelings can be intense, scary and lonely. In individual therapy, I will work with your child to feel better about themselves and help your family to identify key issues of concern and develop healthier coping and decision making skills.
Grief Recovery
Moving beyond the pain caused by the loss.
You know how when people say to you, "move on," or "let it go," when your heart is broken but they don't teach you how?Grief is the normal and natural reaction to any significant emotional loss. Grief is the conflicting feelings caused by the end of or change in a familiar pattern of behavior. Grief is also that feeling of reaching out for someone who has always been there to find that when your really need them they are no longer there. Recovery from loss is accomplished by discovering and completing all of the undelivered communications that accrue in a relationship. Completion of pain caused by loss is what allows us to Let Go and Move On. I teach people HOW to move beyond their pain so they can truly ENJOY their life again.

Staying the course of childhood & learning to let your adolescent become the independent young adult they can be.
For a variety of reasons many children require professional help. Helping children includes helping parents cope with their child's particular needs. The goal of child counseling is for children to get back on a healthy course. Successful Child Counseling improves the lives of children and their parents. Adolescents require a more collaborative approach. Finding a balance between independence and still respecting and allowing parental guidance.

Rekindling yourself and your relationship.
Everyone at sometime in their life asks the most basic of questions: why am I here, what is my purpose? Individual Counseling helps people to define or re-define their lives. Successful Individual Counseling leaves people with a feeling of purpose and worth. When relationships are in trouble people begin to question themselves and their partners. They often ask, "Are we meant to be together, can we be happy?" Whether a relationship is ending or trying to re-kindle, Couple’s Counseling can help to resolve these and other questions. Couple’s Counseling can help each client to come to terms with the future as well as the past.
